Are you facing a business challenge? Are you finding it particularly difficult this season? In this Episode we compare two mentalities, the one who recognises pain as part of the process and the one who expect no pain, and still, success. Episode 76 of the podcast teaches us how to navigate obstacles on our path.

Overcoming Challenges with The Immigrant Mentality

The Immigrant Mentality used to have negative connotations until people started to take note that they worked incredibly hard, were unfazed by difficulties and ran successful businesses. Contrast that to indigenes who have higher expectations of success, with less effort; the goal of many indigenous people is comfort.

Our paths are dotted with obstacles and wins, but if we are aiming for comfort, chances are that is what we’ll work towards. Episode 75 teaches us how to embrace challenges in life and business. We start by accepting problems as a normal part of life.

On the subject of overcoming challenges, I was thrilled to have been interviewed by Fifty Four Magazine. What I loved most about this is that it is an African publication, and I got to speak extensively about my Nigerian heritage, and the lessons I learned growing up there. It’s interesting that our foundation of resilience is primarily formed in childhood and I credit mine to attending a military boarding house, Command Secondary School, Kaduna.
